The Gatehouse K54 ERT incorporates patented Energy Reduction Technology (ERT) — a system of soft, advanced polymer pads designed to help manage both linear and rotational impact energy.
Traditional helmet construction is primarily designed to absorb energy from a direct impact. However, falls can occur at an angle, creating rotational forces as the head moves during impact.
ERT's specially engineered polymer pads compress and deform on impact, helping to absorb and dissipate energy before it is transferred to the head. Their unique material properties and geometry allow the pads to respond to both direct and angled impacts.
ERT works alongside the helmet's existing impact-absorbing construction to provide an additional layer of energy management, helping to reduce the forces experienced by the head during a fall.
